Welcome to The Barbershop
"The Barbershop is the poor man's country club. When people get
their hair cut, they discuss life. When I cut hair, I'm a poet, politician,
parent, preacher and prophet!"
- The words of a local Barber on what it means to
be a Barber.
THE BARBERSHOP is a LIVE online podcast running twice weekly on
www.thebarbershopshow.com. The show came to life a year ago on WOL News talk
1450AM, debuting Saturday, May 14th 2005. It has since evolved into the first
online radio show in the county, boasting thousands of listeners each month!
The "Master Barber" host, John T. Crestwell, Jr., informally examines a number
of ideas as they relate to Prince George's County and to the State of Maryland,
like politics, education, development, religion, entertainment, and the like.
The goal of THE BARBERSHOP is to raise the level of consciousness or awareness
of the listener, to help them become better citizens, better thinkers, and
better people in the county and state of Maryland.
We look forward to you getting your haircut, getting a shape-up,
or a trim, or a fade, or a close but not skinned taper. Whatever you need, it
can be found at THE BARBERSHOP! "A place where everybody doesn't know your name,
but they're always glad you came!"
